I have invariably had an interest in model railways, from my OO gauge as a child, to an N gauge layout in my first home. I have always admired LGB (Lehmann Gross Bahn) but I haven't until now had the time or the resources to devote to such a large scale project.
During a short break in October 2008 I visited Carnforth Station and the resident Bay Models - I was once again smitten and my interest in LGB and G scale was rekindled.
Built in Nuremberg, Germany, LGB models are made to a very high standard to a scale of 1:22.5, operating on 45mm gauge track. From here I decided that all trackwork, locomotives and rolling stock would be LGB.
January 2009
Taking into consideration the shape of my garden, the design and planning stage was complete. I decided upon a curved elongated dumbell shape for the basic layout, with options for turnouts, bridges, tunnels, cabling, expansion and MTS.
February 2009
Initial stock of locomotives, rolling stock, track and accessories were purchased in preparation of construction.
Summer 2009
Track Bed laying.

Winter 2009/10
